Bank of Maharashtra Selects ScoreMe to Build Digital Lending Capabilities Across Four Key Workstreams

Mandate spans AI/ML-led MSME underwriting, drop-off management, customer lifecycle management and omnichannel journeys, aligned with the Bank’s EASE 9.0 objectives

Bank of Maharashtra has selected fintech company ScoreMe Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to build digital lending capabilities aligned with the Bank’s EASE 9.0 objectives, spanning four critical workstreams across the lending journey.

The mandate covers AI/ML in MSME underwriting, drop-off management, new customer lifecycle management and omnichannel journeys, reflecting a broader approach to digital lending that goes beyond credit assessment to address the complete customer journey.

Unlike technology engagements focused on a single point solution, the Bank’s mandate with ScoreMe spans multiple stages of the lending journey. The engagement brings together credit decisioning, customer journey orchestration and decision intelligence within a broader digital lending framework.

Building a connected digital lending journey

Commenting on the announcement, Devdatta V. Rokade, CGM IT and Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, CTO, Bank of Maharashtra, said, “Digital transformation in lending is no longer limited to automating individual processes. Our focus is on creating a connected lending journey that improves customer experience while maintaining the right levels of control, governance and accountability. Our collaboration with ScoreMe across these four workstreams is aimed at strengthening our digital lending capabilities in line with our EASE 9.0 objectives, particularly in areas such as MSME underwriting and customer journey management.”

The partnership comes at a time when banks are increasingly focused on making lending journeys faster, more data-driven and seamless, while maintaining strong governance and human oversight in credit decision-making.

AI/ML in MSME underwriting

A key component of the mandate is the use of AI/ML in MSME underwriting, enabling data and analytics to support credit decisioning within the Bank’s defined policy and approval frameworks.

Importantly, MSME credit decisions will continue to operate within the Bank’s control framework, with human review retained as part of the decision-making process.

For MSMEs in particular, the ability to combine relevant data and analytics into a unified decision context can play an important role in making credit assessment more efficient. At the same time, the emphasis on governance, explainability and human review remains central to the deployment of AI/ML in credit decisions.

From underwriting to applicant drop-offs

The mandate also addresses a less visible but critical challenge in digital lending, applicant drop-offs. By identifying and addressing points where customers discontinue their applications, lenders can work towards improving journey completion and reducing friction in the borrowing process.

The remaining workstreams, new customer lifecycle management and omnichannel journeys, extend the scope of the engagement beyond underwriting, supporting a more connected experience across different stages and channels of the lending lifecycle.

Mr. Shashank Sharma, Co-Founder & Director, Mr. Ayush Jindal, Co-Founder and CEO, and Mr. Rohit Kohli, CTO of ScoreMe, stated, “The future of digital lending will be defined not simply by how quickly a lender can make a credit decision, but by how intelligently and responsibly it can manage the journey around that decision. We are pleased to partner with Bank of Maharashtra on a mandate that brings together underwriting intelligence, drop-off management, lifecycle management and omnichannel orchestration. Our objective is to help create technology infrastructure that enables better decisions and smoother customer journeys while operating within the Bank’s established policies and governance frameworks.”

A broader digital lending mandate

The partnership also reflects the growing role of fintech infrastructure providers in supporting the digital transformation agendas of public sector banks.

For institutions operating against measurable digital transformation objectives, technology partnerships are increasingly becoming an important part of translating those objectives into customer-facing capabilities.

The announcement at Global FinTech Fest 2026, being held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, brings together the banking and fintech ecosystem at a time when digital lending, MSME credit access, responsible AI and customer experience remain key industry priorities.
